Meet Emily
Emily completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Michigan in 2010. She graduated in 2015 with a Masters of Science in Speech Language Pathology from Boston University. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence issued by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association. She maintains licensure in Maryland and Washington, D.C.
Emily is trained in PROMPT (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets) and Comprehensive Orton Gillingham. She has completed additional continuing education and trainings in Dynamic Temporal & Tactile Cueing, speech sounds disorders, childhood apraxia of speech, & natural language acquisition.
Emily’s experience with children of all ages has included assessing and treating expressive and receptive language disorders, articulation/ phonological disorders, disorders in social aspects of communication, and stuttering.
Emily is in her third year with Montgomery County Public Schools. Prior to that, she worked at a private clinic and Washington D.C. charter schools for four years. Before moving to Washington in 2019, Emily worked at a charter elementary school in Philadelphia for four years.
Before gaining her Speech Pathology Degree, Emily led social skills groups for children aged six through eleven as a research assistant at Kennedy Krieger’s Center for Autism and Related Disorders.
Emily grew up in Chevy Chase and enjoys being back in the DC area. She loves traveling, playing tennis, and reading. In her free time, you can find Emily experimenting with new recipes, on her Peloton, or hiking with her husband.
